INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING A CREAMY SALAD DRESSING

  • Mayonnaise the reason behind the creaminess of this dressing. You can whatever type of mayonnaise youโ€™d like. You could either use homemade, avocado oil mayo, vegan mayo, or whatever type of mayo you choose.
  • Yellow mustard if you want to spruce up the flavors a little bit you can use Dijon mustard, and maybe add in a few capers.
  • Lemon juice is going what gives this creamy salad dressing its tanginess. Use either fresh or the prepackaged lemon juice.
  • Salt whichever salt your heart desires. Jus keep in mind that different types of salts have varying potency. I used regular table salt in here. If you use pink salt, sea salt, or any other type of salt, you may need to adjust the amount a bit to suit your desire.
  • Black pepper I highly recommend using freshly ground black pepper. The flavor that it is going to add will be incomparable to the pre-ground stuff. And it really doesnโ€™t take that much effort to grind pepper.
  • Minced garlic, or garlic powder using fresh garlic is going to have a slightly different taste than the powdered garlic. Powdered garlic has a milder, yet a deeper more earthy flavor. Fresh garlic is going to have, well, a fresh and refreshing flavor, and it will also be a bit more spicy.

From a health wise perspective, fresh garlic is going to have more health benefits than powdered garlic. It is suggested that fresh garlic helps in burning fat.

UTENSILS YOUโ€™LL NEED TO MAKE SALAD DRESSING

HOW TO MAKE CREAMY SALAD DRESSING

Itโ€™s as easy as mix and go really. However, the longer you allow the ingredients to sit together, the better the flavor will be.

There is something magical that happens when you allow ingredients to sit together for an extended period of time. All the flavors will begin to meld in together. It will turn out to be a happy marriage between them all. Ok that sounds weird, but you get the point.

So the point is, allow your salad dressing to sit in the fridge for at least 1 hour before using it over your salad.

OPTIONAL ADDITIONS AND CHANGES TO YOUR SALAD DRESSING

If you find that this salad dressing is a bit too tangy for you, there is a simple solution for that.

To make this salad sweeter and less tangy, simply add either a bit of sugar or honey. I would imagine honey would taste great with these ingredients.

However, when you do add honey or sugar, add a 1/4 teaspoon at a time and always taste for flavor. Youโ€™ll have to remember that once you add sugar or honey into your dressing you, you canโ€™t take it out.

If you feel that you have added to much sugar or honey, you can fix that by adding a bit of each of the original stated ingredients in the proper ratios. You might find yourself with a bit more salad dressing than you have expected though.

If you want to spruce up the taste a bit and make this creamy salad dressing into an extra fancy salad dressing, you could use Dijon mustard. You can also add a bit of capers.
